Those who regularly read Wales' Third Best Read Political Column (C) will be aware of my enduring obsession with Gower MP Martin Caton and his propensity to sign whatever Early Day Motion is waved under his nose.
Yesterday Martin was at it again, eschewing talk over such fripperies as the crisis in the Middle East and the flogging of peerages to put his name to eight more, taking his total for the year to an impressive 1,612.
These including a motion congratulating Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan on receiving an honorary degree from De Montfort Polytechnic, a man I'm willing to bet he had never heard of before.
PS You'll note the Indian website describes the EDM as "a rare honour", which suggests news of Martin's fastidiousness has not reached the sub-continent yet.
