The British National Party is taking legal action against the Guardian newspaper after it sent one of its reporters undercover with the party and discovered a number of high-profile figures among the general flotsam and jetsam that makes up its membership.
“Lee [Barnes, the BNP’s lawyer] spends hours on end digging through statutes and case law, including cases from the European Court,” says Nick Griffin, the party’s charming, Powys-based leader.
At this point one might point out some kind of irony in the BNP choosing to pursue its enemies via European law but, well, it all seems rather churlish.
