Interview with Lembit Öpik by the wonderful Deborah Ross in the Independent today. Oddly, though, despite his protestations on the Politics Show last Sunday that he was only prepared to discuss Liberal Democrat policies, there's no mention of devolving powers over building regulations to the Assembly, establishing a Green Jobs strategy or putting prisoners' earnings into a common compensation fund. Instead he chooses to concentrate on his Cheeky Girl girlfriend Gabriela Irimia (great at stir fries, apparently). We can only presume all the policy-related chit-chat was cut out.
Most disturbing, however, is this line from Ms Ross:
I don't know what's in it for Gabi, but I will say that his Westminster nickname is "Tripod". I think I'll leave that hanging, so to speak.
