The first time anyone heard the phrase "Triple Crown Government" to describe the increasingly-likely-looking Plaid/Conservative/Lib Dem coalition was on Thursday following the dramatic LD meeting in Llandrindod Wells.
Where did that come from? Apparently it was discussed by the three parties prior to its first use amid concern that the usual phrase, 'Rainbow Coalition' did not sound suitably governmental enough. Impressive they found the time to thrash out such a red line issue...
Seems they've got time to watch sport too. Three of the four party leaders had their mobiles switched off during the FA Cup Final this afternoon as I attempted to find out what progress had been made - and the one whose phone was switched on was Nick Bourne, just boarding a train to London to take in the England-West Indies Test at Lord's tomorrow.
