Plaid with jobs

Posted by Matt Withers on August 10, 2007 12:01 AM |

EXCLUSIVE! Well, you've probably read it elsewhere by now, but if by chance you are scouting the internet in the early hours of the morning with an insatiable thirst for Plaid Cymru reshuffle news, Ieuan Wyn Jones will announce his new team of policy spokespeople at the Eisteddfod. They are:

Finance & Public Service Delivery – Alun Ffred Jones
Health & Social Services – Helen Mary Jones
Education, Children & Young People – Janet Ryder
Social Justice & Local Government – Dai Lloyd
Sustainability – Leanne Wood
Chief Whip – Chris Franks
Skills and adviser on Ethnic Minority issues – Mohammad Asghar
Chair, Enterprise and Learning Committee – Gareth Jones
Regeneration – Nerys Evans
Child Poverty – Bethan Jenkins

It is reminiscent of William's Hague's comments on being elected Conservative leader: "There will be a job for everyone who wants one. There will be a job for everyone who doesn't want one." But is does rather beg the question: what will they actually get to do?

They will build up knowledge, expertise and experience in their various briefs and so prepare for the time when Plaid is the government of Wales.
