Militant atheists who pour scorn on the Christian faith as "superstitious nonsense" are denounced as the the "new fundamentalists" by the Archbishop of Wales, Dr Barry Morgan, in today's papers.
It brings to mind a favourite comment of mine by the writer and broadcaster Charlie Brooker:
What is science anyway? Only a rigorously-tested, peer-reviewed, continually evolving system of knowledge about the way our world works, built up over centuries - that's all. It's not a patch on mindless superstition.
